CP3 denies report his relationship with Harden is ‘unsalvageable,’ that he requested a trade after loss to Warriors

Guards purportedly went 2 months without speaking during the season

In the wake of an explosive report from Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo Sports that the Rockets, and most notably Chris Paul and James Harden, are on the verge of combusting, CP3 has spoke up.

Per Goodwill, the relationship between the pair of guards is reportedly “unsalvageable” and headed toward a split. After the Rockets crashed out against a Kevin Durant-less Warriors in the second round, Paul demanded a trade, issuing an ultimatum in which he asked management to pick between him and Harden.

Paul, via his Instagram account, says not so fast.

Daryl Morey, the club's general manager, also rebutted the report:

According to Goodwill's story, Paul and Harden reportedly didn’t speak to each other for two months during the season. Morey had been looking to move Paul who is anchored down by a massive contact.

Paul, 34, makes $38.5 million next year, $41.3 million the season after that and $44.2 million in his final campaign under his current contract.
