The A’s braintrust, Billy Beane, David Forst and Bob Melvin, took the stage at the Coliseum and delivered the end-of season state of the union.

Beane, the A’s EVP of Baseball Ops offered a strong vote of support for manager Bob Melvin who is one year from free agency.

Beane also said the club has held “preliminary conversations” with Khris Davis regarding his future. Like Melvin, Davis is entering his final season of team control.

Incidentally, Beane is also entering the final year of his contract. The status of his GM Forst’s deal is not publicly known.
