The day after Stephen Curry sprained his right ankle, team broadcaster Jim Barnett offered his perspective on the injury in an appearance on “The Greg Papa Show” with Bonta Hill on 95.7 The Game.

“I don’t want to get in trouble...but I think I can speculate myself from all the years I’ve seen and I saw the ankle, how swollen it was last night,” Barnett said. “And I’ve seen other people reported it was as big as a baseball — maybe it wasn’t as giant as a baseball, but it was pretty doggone big.”

“I don’t know. We may not see Stephen Curry until 2018.”

As Barnett was clear to point out, this is his vantage point of the situation — not the club’s official stance.

“I would love it if he’d only missed four or five games,” Barnett said. “But I just can’t see that, myself. That’s just my personal opinion. I haven’t talked to anybody on the medical staff whatsoever. It’s just from my experience and seeing things and knowing what that ankle looked like.”
